Ken Massey has given many, many years service in weed control in Northland.
He is a character who is well known in Northland for his advice, his dedication, his knowledge and his wit!
Ken has been a Biosecurity Officer for the NRC for some years now, and has assisted greatly in raising the awareness of pest plants here in Northland.
Many agencies have worked with him, DoC, WDC, Transit, MafBiosecurity, he is a member of the Biosecurity Institute of New Zealand, also on the board for Limestone Island - and advices on weed control there.
His projects over the years include Nassella Tussock ranging, Lantana control in the Far North, Wild Ginger control – working with groups of Landowners, and many, many more.
Ken has decided it is time to retire, and Northland will be loosing a wealth of information and experience. Although retiring, Ken will still play an active role in weed control, on Limestone Island, and as a Project Manager for Lantana and Nasella Tussock.
