I have started clearing out old trees and overgrown hedges and getting rid of these older messier trees and plants. I have then been replacing them with newer hardier species and been mulching around them. My plan is to use mulch all the way around the edges of the gardens to really prevent weeds from getting a hold. I am not a fan of sprays although they do work a treat on lawns. The lawn will take a fair bit of work as it has been overgrown for years and this is my first summer here. So really pulling out weeds at the moment is the order of the day. Cheers Marcus
