Progress Castlecliff Coast Care

Coast Care working bees.

An active group working to protect and enhance our fragile coastal environment. Castlecliff Coast Care has regular fortnightly working bees.

We'll be planning our winter plantings and maintaining last years plantings. Meet at Duncan Pavilion, Castlecliff.

Meet at Gordon Park Scenic Reserve, corner of No. 3 Line and Kaimatira Road, the 2nd Tuesday morning (9 am-noon) and 4th Saturday afternoon (1-4 pm) each month. The main targeted weeds are the widespread Jerusalem cherry, stinking iris, green cyperus (Cyperus eragrostis) and karaka, plus any other scattered woody weeds, arums, windmill palm. We also gather rubbish and, In season, gather seed for growing on and do restoration planting and produce, through DOC, a newsletter.
