Ohinetahi Reserve Weedbusting
The Ohinetahi group of the Summit Road Society meet every Tuesday from 9:00am to 3:00pm to maintain the Ohinetahi Reserve, 150 hectares of regenerating native forest on the steep hillside situated above Governors Bay. We are not short of weeds, and you can expect to encounter gorse, broom, old man’s beard, banana passionfruit and Darwin’s barberry among others. If you are not able to work the full day or every week that is not a problem. Any contribution is welcome. Transport can be provided from opposite 3A Longhurst Tce near the Sign of the Takahe. Equipment needed is gloves, secateurs, loppers, saw and grubber/spade. We can provide some tools if needed. Bring morning tea and lunch.
