The Wild Ginger Bash
This event is part of Conservation Week 2018 - www.doc.govt.nz/conservationweek
What: Take a stroll through a regenerating kauri block, learn about the important work taking place here, and help us in our long-term quest to exterminate wild ginger from this site. We expect to be walking for around 10 minutes, along the Harray Track, to reach the weeding site, and to be weeding for around two hours. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, water and appropriate clothing for the weather. This event is for people of all ages and will go ahead unless rain is heavy and persistent on the day.
Where: Meet about 700 meters up Hauraki Road, in the field, just past the Refuse Transfer Station. Parking will be available in the field on the day – look out for the DOC truck.
Who: Partnership between Te Patukirikiri, Moehau Environment Group, Kauri 2000, Weedbusters, Coromandel Independent Living Trust, Waikato Regional Council & DOC
Region: Waikato
