Trees for Travellers Native Restoration Project is out there in the Kaikoura Community busting weeds and planting locally sourced native trees. We spend a lot of time on the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway doing manual weed releasing work on all the trees we have planted rather than spraying. We also are working on Tom’s Track which was once completely covered in gorse but is now only half covered, and flourishing with lots of native trees we have been planting. Gorse, thistles, dandelion, and various grasses are some of the many weeds we are working on.
