Profile
The Clarevale Reserve is in a corner of Travis Wetland in Burwood, Christchurch. It’s a wetland environment, being restored from an almost entirely exotic, weedy state. The weeds being tackled are primarily blackberry, gorse, grey willow and convolvulus. This weedbusting is in an area where a scientific study on the restoration of kahikatea forest was carried out.
We are still intermittently busting weeds in the Clarevale corner of Travis Wetland but we don’t have a fixed schedule, so if anyone wants to join us they should enquire as to the next time we will be weeding.
Volunteers need to bring working clothes and gumboots, gloves and tools are provided.
